Importing a tree list
You import a tree schedule on the web desk at treeatlas.app/desk. The phone app cannot import. Owners and surveyors can import.
Import a schedule
- On the desk, open the site.
- Open the Tree schedule tab, then tap Import schedule.
- Tap Choose file. Pick an Excel file (.xlsx) or a CSV file, with up to 10,000 trees.
- If the Excel file has more than one sheet, choose the Sheet.
- Check the column matches. Tree Atlas suggests a column for each field. If you imported before, it uses the mapping from last time.
- Make sure there is a column for No, Species, Category + sub and Condition. You cannot import without these.
- Tap Import 25 trees. The button shows the number of trees in your file.
Check the rows first
Before you import, the summary says how many rows can be imported. Tap Review to see each row. If some rows cannot be imported, tap Download report (CSV) to get the list with the reason for each row.
Trees already on the site
Tree Atlas matches trees by Tree Atlas ID, then tag, then tree number. Under Matching tree numbers, choose:
- Skip matching IDs to leave those trees as they are.
- Update matching IDs to change them to the values in your file.
Stop, resume or undo
If an import stops part-way, tap Resume or Undo. Earlier imports are listed under Earlier imports on this site. Tap Undo this import to remove one.
Import a base plan
To add a CAD drawing under your trees, open the Map tab and tap Import base plan. Pick a DXF file of up to 50 MB. DWG files are not supported yet. Save the drawing as DXF first.
