What happens to your data if you stop
Your trees, photos and reports stay yours. You own the survey data, photos and content you create.
When your trial or subscription ends
The account becomes read-only. This happens when a trial ends without a subscription, and when a subscription ends because you cancelled or a payment failed. You keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for.
In read-only mode you can still view and export your existing surveys and reports. You cannot create or edit surveys or upload photos. See clause 6 of the terms of service.
How long we keep it
Your data stays available in read-only form for 12 months. After that it may be permanently deleted. That covers survey rows and the photo and audio files with them. If you subscribe again within 12 months, everything is restored.
Audit-log entries are kept for 24 months by default. Billing records are kept as the law requires, typically 6 years. For the details, see the privacy policy.
Take a copy before you go
CSV export is free whether you subscribe or not. See Exporting CSV and DXF. For a copy of your own personal data, go to Me › You, then tap Download my data.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Me › You and tap Delete account. On the web desk, go to treeatlas.app/desk/account and click Delete account under Your data. If other people are on your team, transfer ownership to one of them first.
Before you confirm, the app lists what is deleted. If you are the owner, that includes the business's sites, surveys, trees, photos, voice notes and reports, and a card subscription on the web is cancelled straight away. If you are not the owner, the trees, photos and notes you recorded stay with the business, credited to "Former member".
Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel that in your iPhone or iPad Settings, or in the Play Store app. See Billing, cancelling and the App Store.
